The Uganda Tourism Association (UTA) is a leading umbrella organization representing private sector stakeholders in Uganda’s tourism industry. UTA brings together tourism associations and businesses with a shared mission of promoting sustainable tourism, enhancing industry standards, and strengthening the competitiveness of Uganda as a premier travel destination.
On 28th April 2026, ZATO and UTA formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This strategic collaboration aims to foster stronger tourism ties between Zanzibar and Uganda by promoting joint destination marketing, facilitating business-to-business (B2B) networking, encouraging knowledge exchange, supporting capacity building initiatives, and creating new opportunities for tourism businesses in both destinations.
Through this partnership, ZATO and UTA reaffirm their commitment to regional cooperation and to advancing sustainable tourism development across East Africa for the benefit of their members and the wider tourism industry.
